Day 1

We left the house with Oliver and I in tears as we waved to my mom who was crying. Austin was just squeezing his bear and my dad was filming it all. Two minutes later we were back at the house as I thought I had forgotten my phone, turned out I was just sitting on it.

The drive was easy. A stop at Starbucks and the side of the road for lunch. Pretty soon we were staring at the awesome sand dunes and Chris and I were saying, "We are really doing this!"

We were blown in and out kind of quickly by the winds as blowing sand is pretty, but a bit sharp! We headed for our camp, set up shop and swam in the hot springs pool till dinner. Swimming in a natural springs pool in the middle of the desert during the sunset is a pretty nice way to start off the trip!
